Color Inspiration

I have a few new pieces I will be working on this week and some ideas floating around, but I decided to search for some inspiration today.  Maybe see if anything jumps out at me. Here's what I have so far...

As you can see, I rock back and forth between traditional muted colors and bold pops of complimentary colors. Sometimes my selection of color is harder than others...I just don't know yet:/
Meanwhile, I wanted to share these beautiful images that are inspiring me today!
Enjoy your weekend!

Turquoise and Green Dresser

I didn't take a "before" picture for this one,
figured it was pretty obvious what it looked like before!
B-O-R-I-N-G!
So, here ya go, may favorite Benjamin colors;)

I think this one would make a great nursery dresser, boy or girl!
Even use it for a changing table...lots of storage, too.
What about maybe using it in a teen's room for their tv??
This is for sale HERE on my Etsy shop.

BEFORE AND AFTER...Maybe A New Favorite?

Everyone loves a good desk / vanity, right?
The French styles are always favorites with their curvy lines and beautiful details.
But what about this one?
I've seen a lot of furniture like this piece,
just needs some color;)

Now you hear me, right?
Love this color combination!

In Transition...

So, the story goes...
I found this table, LOVE it, just not in the shiny black finish.
Needs a flat finish...but what color???

How about gray, maybe driftwood like, with a brown glaze??

I like it, but just doesn't look finished.
So, I paint a flat white and distress the finish.
This allowed the original black and gray to peek though.

What do you think? Better or worse?
I would love to hear your input!

Saw this quote today on knackstudio.com
Not sure I'll ever master this one;)

In The Shop

Look what I found yesterday!

This awesome bar cart needed nothing,
not one thing...it's perfect!

Mid century footstool...just needed a little chevron.

And...just a little mod floral pattern to
bring this chair to 2012!

Inspiration for Design

Have you heard? The new issue of Lonny magazine is out!
I think I have already memorized it cover to cover.  Here are some of my favorite images.
Loving the juxtaposition of the chandelier and the primitive table.

Oh, those chairs...

Serenity, look at the photography above the sofa.

These fun geometric prints look fun but still sophisticated.

Loving the bold rug color on the floor,

Have a fun summer weekend!

EMERALD GREEN BUFFET

This paint swatch, in this shade of green by Benjamin Moore, has been resting on my paint table for a few weeks.  I found this vintage art deco buffet and well...it all came together.
See below the before and after pictures!
Yes, this was already pretty cool before I painted but this has suffered some water damage so it really
needed some TLC.
“Green how I want you green. Green wind. Green branches." -- Federico Garcia Lorca

Just the right amount of green, just the right hint of blue, makes the perfect shade of emerald!!

I have sanded, primed and painted this amazingly cool art deco buffet. I added chevron stripes to the doors and please, please check out those original pulls! The original wood grain is peeking through the stripes.

I think this would be an awesome addition to any room in your home but think about it in your dining room, or in your living room with your tv on it. Any little one would be so lucky to have this in their room shoved full of toys.
